14th March 2006 : Montecristo Humidor In 2003 Habanos S.A. had introduced the Montecristo Company 95th Anniversary Humidor, a limited-edition work dedicated to the 95th birthday of Cuba's most famous musician. Each humidor comes packed with 95 cigars: 55 Montecristo No. 4s, the ubiquitous petit coronas that are the best-selling Cuban cigars in the world, and 40 Montecristo Salomones No. 2s, rare, fat figurados. Keeping with the "95" theme, only 95 of the humidors will be sold. 06th March 2006 : $230,000 for a Montecristo Humidor
At the Annual Festival in Havana, hundreds of cigar lovers came from all over the world. There were 5 humidors up for grabs at the auction. They were all signed by Fidel Castro. The Montecristo Humidor sold for a massive $230,000 and the proceeds will go to the Cuba's State Run Health Care System.
